Where does the name VEO by VERA come from?

Companies are handed three acronyms at once these days: SEO, GEO and AEO. Search engine optimisation, generative search, answer engines. Each with its own field, its own tools and its own consultants.

But nobody wakes up wanting to do AEO. What people want is for their business to be found, understood and recommended. Whether that happens through Google or through ChatGPT is a means, not a goal.

The name came out of that gap.

That name connects the two discovery modes that shaped the product idea:

The difference between the two is larger than it looks. In search results you compete for a place in a list. In an AI answer you compete to be named in a piece of text that contains no list at all. That takes different work, and something able to measure both at once.

The acronym is an origin, not a boundary

One honest note about those letters: they describe where the idea came from, not where it has arrived.

Vera's role has grown beyond rankings and answers alone. She interprets what the measurements mean, explains likely causes, prioritises which improvements matter most, and increasingly helps carry those improvements out, across search, AI and other places where people discover things.

The literal expansion remains part of the brand's origin and identity. It is simply not a ceiling on what the product may become.

Why the distinction matters

Split visibility into three separate fields and you get three separate reports that contradict each other. You rank well in Google, you go unmentioned by ChatGPT, and nobody can tell you whether that matters or where to start.
